Places to see in Shirdi

Samadhi Mandir

The monument was supposed to be Muralidhar Mandir, which later became Baba’s Samadhi Sthal. It was built by Shreemant Gopalrao, a famous Sai devotee and it is completely carved in stone. Baba’s Samadhi is built with white marble stones. Two silver pillars of ornamental designs in front of the Samadhi, are attration points. Behind the Samadhi, Sai Baba’s spectacular statue made of Italian marble, has been placed. The assembly hall in front of Samadhi mandir can accommodate about 600 devotees. Various things handled by Baba and his photographs are kept here. The routine of the temple starts at 5 am with Bhoopali. At night mandir remains open till 10 pm after Shejarati. Only on 3 special occasions; Gurupoornima, Dassera, and Ramnavami, the Mandir is kept open overnight.


Dwarkamai, an old mosque, is situated on the right side of the entrance of Samadhi Mandir. Here Baba used to solve the problems of the people and cure their sickness and worries. At the second level of Dwarkamai, there is a square stool made up of stone which was used by Baba for a bath. A must see is the oil painting of Shri Sai Baba sitting in a carved wooden shrine.


Sai Baba was first spotted seated under a Neem tree in Shirdi. This place came to be known as Gurusthan. There is a small shrine in Gurusthan where you will find a portrait of Baba placed on a platform.

Lendi Baug

Near to Gurusthan, you can visit Lendi Baug. This Baug (garden) was made and watered daily by Sai Baba himself. Baba used to keep a light always lit uin a pit which is 2 feet deep under the Neem tree. Now, an octangular Deepgriha called Nanda Deep has been built in marble stone in memory of this place. It constantly burns in a glass box.

Khandoba Mandir

This temple is situated on the main road. In front of this temple Baba was welcomed by Poojari Mhalsapati, of this temple, saying “Aao Sai”, when Baba stepped in Shridi. In this temple there are icons of Khandoba, Banai and Mhalsai.
